Some Common Questions (a.k.a. The Elixir FAQ)
Hello All!
Below is an updated version of our “official” FAQ.
Do you hold auditions?
Yes. We prefer to know who we’re auditioning, be it through a previous production of ours, a production of somebody else’s, or by recommendation. But we also do hold open calls - so, if you’re an actor, be on the lookout for bulletins announcing upcoming auditions. Also feel free to send us an e-mail with some information about yourself and a resume/headshot, and by all means invite us to any NYC/Northern NJ performances/gigs/happenings/events you happen to be involved with so we can see you perform.
Of course, we’d also love to meet you at one of our shows. Just ask around for Alex, Jody, or Faye - one of us is always lurking somewhere.
Do you ever come to [insert city/country other than New York/U.S. here]?
Sadly, no - at least not yet. We’d love to travel and perform far and wide, but someone would have to invite us first (someone with a performance space), and since we’re still establishing ourselves in our own little neck of the woods, it could be quite some time before we start receiving invitations. But if you know of any organizations or theatres that might be interested, please spread the word!
Do you have any shows coming up?
Chances are, yes!
What’s it called? Where is it? How do I get there?
If we’re working on a project, all the details can be found on the CURRENT WORK page of our website.
Where can I find out more about you?
Our website: www.elixirproductions.org.
What is Radium?
A past show of ours. An ARCHIVE of all our past productions - including play synopses, pictures, and, in some cases, multimedia - can be found on our website.
Anything I can do?
Come see our next show! Tell everyone you know to see our next show! If you’re a member of the press, review us! If you represent a business, consider sponsoring us (our past sponsors have included The Village Voice, SOTA Turntables, HX Magazine and Next Magazine).
Failing all this, you can always make a donation
Anything you can do for me?
For artists: If you’re an artist with a web presence, send us the link and a brief description so we can include it on our website’s RESOURCES page. The same goes if you represent an arts-related organization, publication, or business.
For non-profits: If you’re part of a non-profit and would like to see our current show, contact us for special individual and/or group rates for you and your colleagues. We also want to be a resource for you in any way we can, especially if your organization addresses the needs of the LGBT community. If we can help bring attention to important information and services in our playbills or on our website, please let us know.
For MySpacers/Facebookers: Post comments on our MySpace or Facebook page about anything you want our visitors to see. However, comments with gigantic pictures that distort the layout of our page will be deleted, as will sex ads, those Macy’s Card adverts, and “personal” testimonials about viagra and herbal enlargement.
Can you keep me up to date?
Add us to your MySpace and/or Facebook friends! As each new show approaches, we will be sending bulletins and event invitations with news, special MySpace and Facebook ticket offers, and free ticket giveaways. Keep your eyes peeled! We promise we’re worth it.
Best,
Alex, Jody & Faye
The Core Production Team
